Description

Analysis NoteAgglutination activity is expressed in μg/ml and is determined from serial dilutions of a 1 mg/ml solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 6.8. This activity is the lowest concentration to agglutinate a 2% suspension of human erythrocytes after 1 hr incubation at 25 °C.
Biochem/physiol ActionsDSL is not blood group specific but has an affinity for oligomers of N-acetyl-glucosamine and N-acetyllactosamine. The lectin is a glycoprotein containing approx. 35% carbohydrate.
Preparation NotePurified by affinity chromatography
QualityHighly purified.
